  Successes you enjoyed since leaving the Org

  thought i would start a discussion, and hopefully a positive one, on what successes you’ve enjoyed since leaving the org.. each of us is different as people, in life experiences etc.

  however we all share one common factor in that we have all experienced the negativity, to a greater or lesser degree, of being a jw and the org.. each success is worth celebrating so i invite you to share some of your achievements.

  it does not matter how ‘big or small’ it is, share it with us.. my achievement means a great deal to me both personally and professionally.

  If I was still a JW today I would be living on the edge financially and worried to no end about medical bills. The friends still in many are struggling because they didn't make plans for the future.But the the number one reason why I feel I have been so successful, my wife today. She was so instrumental in helping me crawl out of the darkness I was in. She is my success story or I'am her success story.

  Is Watchtower now loosening the bedroom rules?

  i was at my assembly when this was discussed last week.

  of course i hadn't prepared and i heard "no rules about limits", or at least i thought i did.. here's the direct quote from the watchtower study article.. "although the bible does not provide specific rules about the kinds and limits of love play that might be associated with natural sexual intimacy, it mentions displays of affection.

  the watchtower (study edition) august 2016 : making christian marriage a success, paragraph 8.. what say you?.

  Another "good" elder might be getting the axe....

  so our congregation is full of hardliner elders, 3 of them, who are not gentle, kind or loving.. people have either moved away or quit trying because one elder inparticular was going to drive them crazy with all his rules and nit picking and being righteous over much.

  (and he is pissed that he hasn't been accepted to the school.

  hmmm, i wonder why!).

  Most elders that I knew back in the 70's-80's if they had young ones 50% or higher were DF or left the organization..And the elders that were super elders(next to Jehovah), their kids really went crazy. Looking back those elders that were hardliners in so many cases their own house wasn't in order. The bottom line, some folks can not handle that kind of power.....They way I figure it even if your kids are grown and 3 out of 4 leave the borg something was wrong in your household. So you record in your own household should be questioned, if you should remain an elder. I know several elders and all their kids have left the borg and they are still elders today.

  Extreme rules on Dating – is this for all congregations?

  just found out that in the congregation we used to attend there are two young brothers, both are sons of elders and recently engaged to girls in neighboring congregations.

  instructions are that they may not sit together at assemblies or meetings.

  but get this….they can’t even ride in the same car even if their parents are also in the car.

You wonder how many elders daughters choose that lucrative career...But it's about the same with evangelist I guess, the young ladies I knew and their father were preachers , they were WILD.......The preacher's daughter.......

  If a JW Came To Your Door How Would You Handle It?

  jehovah's witnesses have never come to my door but they have come to my girlfriends door.

  i have coached her as to what to say or ask but it appears that they always seem to come when she's not there.

  .....just curious would you get into it with a jehovah's witness at your door especially if it was someone you did not know?.

  If you are old enough tell them I was around in 1975 and I know what happen.....Most that come to my door were to young, but the few that remember "folks ran ahead". I just look at them and ask , are you serious???
